New York Apartment Style Comes to Birmingham Michigan

When Amy Weinstein showed me a photo of a fireplace in a New York apartment I was absolutely up for the challenge.  The owner was a very creative ambitious surgeon who was very involved.  Her attention to detail was a real inspiration to make this fireplace turn out as great as it should.  We started with finding the right marble.   Amy found the Cippolina at CIOT in Troy, MI.  Then Genesee Cut Stone fabricated it after we provided the basic design intent.  Albaugh Masonry Stone and Tile Inc. then did the installation.  I am very pleased with how it turned out.  The horizontal striping draws your eyes immediately to the fireplace.  Although the fireplace is quite contemporary it has the ash lip around the hearth like fireplaces of old.

Todd Emerson from Birmingham was the general contractor on this project.  Him and his carpenters were a pleasure to deal with during this and the other fireplaces we did in this home.

Solid Marble Fireplace in Ann Arbor, MI

This fireplace surround was fabricated out of huge pieces of solid marble.   The owners selected the marble from Capital Stone Works out of Bridgeport MI.  Albaugh Masonry Stone and Tile was then asked to do the installation for the owners.  We work very well with all the guys at Capital Stone.  The large mantle piece installation required five people which included the owner of  Albaugh Masonry, one set of teenage twins, a very strong 200lb. man and one professional hockey player.

Stone Tiles Add Flavor to Kitchen

This detail behind the stove adds a wonderful spice to this kitchen.  Not so different than what makes your favorite food flavorful this mosaic adds just the right ingredient to this kitchen.  Features like this can take all the time and effort put into picking out cabinets, paint, counters and fixtures and bring it all together and make it look warm and friendly.

This kitchen was a joint effort by Sally Russell Building Company and the home owner.  The idea for the niche was brought to Albaugh Masonry Stone and Tile Inc.  and they were very open to ideas.  The result is a fantastic centerpiece over the stove.
